pills helvetica, prescription sans-serif">The Keys 100 race is this Saturday. team cyberspeed tested the TopoFusion event tracking system for almost 200 miles and ran flawless except for a couple of operator errors made during the first leg.

There is an event page that has the last position logged for each team and a team page for each team that has the entire track for each team linked to the leader board. The event tracking is free for all participants. The test "race" page has already been set up for the race and anyone that has a Spot will be added. All that is needed is the web address of the shared tracking page you get from Spot when you set up your account.

Units are available at most West Marines. The cost of the unit is $150 and the basic services plus the live tracking fee is $150/year. Rental units are available from
Skycall Communications . The price is around $25 per event.

Webcast tracking using Spot Satelite Messengers is available for all Endurance Series races starting with the Keys 100 on April 25th. The webcast will be powered by TopoFusion.com who is continually developing their software.

The long awaited announcement of the Endurance Series is finally here.  The new schedule consists of only four races with all counting toward points. This will achieve two goals, ask one allowing all sailors to compete against each other head to head and two allowing us to focus on making the events higher in quality. The 2008 awards will be given out at the Key's 100 which is the first race of the series.

2009 Endurance Series Schedule
Apr 25–26 – Keys 100- Reef Run (Key Largo to Key West)
July 25-26 -- Gilligan's Run (Daytona Beach)*
Oct 31-Nov 1 -- Hiram's Haul (Melbourne to Sebastian)
Dec 12-13 -- 25 Annual Key Largo Steeplechase (Key Largo)
*- tentative date

Hiram's Haul hosted by Performance Sail and Sport completed its 11th run covering 60 miles along the Space Coast’s scenic Indian River Lagoon. The race parallels several barrier island cities and could be seen at several vantage points along the way.  Although the race was first run in 1997, sick Hiram’s Haul had a new venue at the halfway point just one mile South of Captain Hiram's Restaurant in Sebastian, FL. which proved to be a big upgrade with much potential for future races.  Hiram's Haul is the least difficult of the six Endurance Series races because of the protected, flat waters of the Indian River Lagoon. The race consists of two 30 miles legs with a party in the middle and a barbecue at the end.
