The 2008 Endurance Series points were announced at the Keys 100 which was the season opener for the 2009 series. Everything came down to the final race of the year with only ten points separating the top seven boats. The last race, pharm the Steeplechase, is a two day event covering 110 miles and navigation skills are a must. Carbon Cruising's Bret Moss and Mark Jones manage to rebound from a DNF due to a broken mast on their Marstrom 20 and win the 2008 Endurance Series. The team was fourth going into the last event four points behind the leading team BMW On A Cat. The teams sponsors (Marstrom Composites, Landenberger Sails, Coconut Grove Sails and Millennium Laser Center) all pulled together to get the boat back in top shape for the final race of the series. It paid off with a fourth place finish which put the team in the top position.

Finishing second in the Endurance Series was the underdog but crowd favorite, Wiki Wiki, on a vintage wooden olympic style Tornado. Bob Walke and Art Monahan did the majority of the races together but Bob did Hiram's Haul with his son, Alexander. The team consistently finished well except for the Steeplechase when mechanical problems forced them to retire on the second day. It was very disappointing because the team was third, two points ahead of Carbon Cruising going into the final event.

Third was the I-20 team of BMW On A Cat who finished 2nd at Gilligan's Run and 4th at Hiram's haul. Frank Roderick raced with both Dave Ingram, whom also sailed under Team Dingo, and Kathy Turner.

The Endurance Series is a Florida based series for sailors who have a fair amount of experience and feel comfortable sailing in all types of wind and sea conditions. The series provides a challenge for all experience levels. Some of the events are in lakes/rivers and others are out in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico and the distances range from 30 miles to 120 miles. The Endurance Series rewards participation and teams with more races will place higher than those with fewer races excluding throw outs.
