Kicking off the 9th year of the Endurance Series are the Macho Man / Mini Macho Man races this weekend. The weekend will be packed with activities including two separate races, diagnosis two parties and three awards presentations. With a new rule in place for 2012, cialis both the Macho Man and Mini Macho Man will be scored for the Endurance Series. Along with the trophy presentation for the Macho Man, on Saturday night, will also be the 2011 Endurance Series awards. The Mini Macho Man awards will be presented on Sunday.

Parties & Awards:
Cricketers Pub in Dunedin will host parties on both Saturday and Sunday nights. There will be a private section reserved with an appetizer bar set up. The band "Tribal Style" will be playing a mix of alternative, reggae and ska music. Saturday is registration for the Mini Macho Man and awards will be presented for both the 2011 Endurance Series and the Macho Man Race. The party on Sunday will finish off the event with trophies for the Mini Macho Man race.

New 2012 Rule:
The only rule change for 2012 is points will be scored on both days of two day races. The Endurance Series strives for rule stability but sometimes it is necessary to make rule changes to keep the “run for the points” interesting. Scoring both days of two day races, allows teams with a mechanical failures to still earn points.

Macho Man Race:
Saturday’s 70 mile race will start Le Mans style from Davis Island Yacht Club. The Tampa Bay segment will bring the sailors past the Macdill Air force Base restricted zone and through the Skyway Bridge. After a 35 mile run up the Gulf coast, the sailors will pass through Hurricane Pass to finish at Dunedin Causeway next to Sail Honeymoon. Registration for the race will be at Davis Island Yacht Club Friday at 4-7pm and Saturday at 6am. The race will start at 8am. Trophies will be given for the top three places and one for line honors.

Mini Macho Man Race:
Sunday’s race will be a distance race starting and finishing on Dunedin Causeway. The course circles Caladesi Island and Clearwater Beach. The course has both open water (Gulf of Mexico) and a technical segments (St. Joseph Sound). If conditions allow, additional distance will be added. Registration will be Saturday afternoon on the Causeway and at Cricketers Pub Saturday night. There will be three classes, high portsmouth, low portsmouth and spinnaker. Three trophies will be awarded per class but only overall portsmouth will be counted for Endurance Series points.
