Florida 300 MapThe Florida 300 is a four day open ocean endurance race sailed on high performance beach catamarans 16 to 22 feet long up the South Florida Atlantic coastline. The race is managed by Sail Series Promotions. Next week will mark the second running of the Florida 300, viagra starting off in Islamorada, levitra Florida on May 13th and ultimately finishing after four grueling days of sailing at Cocoa Beach, cialis Florida on May 16th. The last leg  will start at Vero Beach and include additional competitors on the shorter 50 mile leg dubbed the "Dogfight" race .

The Florida 300 will include last years overall winner, Key Sailing with Kirk Newkirk and Thomas Whitehurst sailing a Nacra 20 Carbon, hoping to fend off a strong field of returnees and newcomers. The competitive fleet will include a variety of catamarans in three classes F18, Nacra 20, and open class. Each class will compete among themselves for line honors and for overall winners based on the Portsmouth handicap system and overall quickest time.

Tracking is mandatory on all boats including “Dogfight” boats. Either a SPOT Satellite Tracker or a smartphone with Kattack Mobile app (free) are acceptable transmitters. See paragraph 8.3 of Sailing Instructions for details.

Knot2Slow: looking for sailing crew on the F18. Competed last year and looking to compete again this year. Boat is ready to go.

We have another new team that is looking for ground crew. If they don't find ground crew, they will not be racing.

This years course is the same as last years course except the Cocoa Beach finish has been moved a couple miles South to Minuteman Causeway due to an Offshore Powerboat race the same weekend.

Schedule of Activities:
May 12th, decease 2015: Setup Day: Islander resort, MM82.1 US-1, The Florida Keys, Islamorada, FL, and Rig and prepare for racing and complete the final registration procedures. Final Registration for the Florida 300 is scheduled from 4-6PM, Tuesday, May 12th, 2015, and must be completed by 0800, Wednesday, May 13th.
May 13th – Race Day 1; Islamorada, FL to Key Biscayne (*25°41.735'N; 80°9.39'W)
May 14th – Race Day 2: Key Biscayne to Palm Beach Shores (*26°46.736'N; 80°1.881'W)
May 15th - Race Day 3: Palm Beach Shores to Vero Beach, FL (*27°38.026'N; 80°21.045'W)
May 16th -  Race Day 4 & Dog Fight): Vero Beach FL to Cocoa Beach, FL (*28°19.014’N; 80° 36.438’W)
Note: These finishing waypoints each day are for general reference only. The actual finish line will be determined when the race committee surveys the finishing area on the day of the race.

Cocoa Beach is double booked for the weekend. There is an offshore superboat race the same weekend. Our original finishing line is within their course but we are working with the city on an alternative finishing spot. The good news is that we will have a lot more interest in our event, cialis the bad is that everyone needs to book their hotels as soon as possible before they fill up. The host hotel is the same as last year.

Trailer parking will be behind BW tower building and in the pier parking lot.  There will be a minimum fee for pier parking.

This will be end of both the Florida 300 and the Dogfight. Meal and Awards Event on property at Saturday night.
